The demo

Look around CareerBot with a made-up person's search, with no account. What's in it, what you can do there, and how it's made.

The demo is CareerBot itself, with a made-up person's search already in it. It needs no account and nothing to set up. Open it from Open the demo on careerbot.dev's home page or its Questions page, or go straight to demo.careerbot.dev.

Whose search it is

Renata Alvarez is made up. She's an ICU nurse in Denver, finishing a data analytics certificate, who wants to move into clinical implementation or clinical operations at a virtual care company. Her stories were written the way people really talk, half-remembered and out of order. CareerBot wrote everything else from them with the same AI steps you'd use; her choices, what to approve, which roles to go after and who to write to, were made for her:

  • her record: the roles and facts she approved, a project, a question about when she became a charge nurse (two of her stories disagree), and insights waiting for her review
  • her goals: directions with their positioning and criteria, two more suggested, and her limits (pay, place, travel)
  • three roles at companies she named, ranked for each direction, one set apart because it's on-site in San Francisco
  • a base resume, a resume for each direction and one tailored to each role, and a cover letter
  • two pursuits, one on each path: an application with its resume and letter, sent, and a follow-up written for it; and, at a company she writes to without applying, an outreach message to a director of clinical operations, marked sent
  • Reports, with what her search cost

The companies, the roles, the people she writes to and their example.com addresses are all made up.

What you can do there

Look at anything: every screen, every resume and letter, what each line is built on, and Reports. Nothing in the demo can be changed. Choose an action and it tells you "This is a demo, so nothing can be changed", with Get notified to hear when the hosted version opens. That holds on the server too, not just on the screen: nothing you do there is saved, so the next visitor sees the same search.

Her search is shown as it stood on the day it was made: what's new, due or this month's is counted from that day, so it reads the same whenever you open it. Her roles came with it; the demo doesn't read job boards or company websites, and it holds no keys, so nothing in it calls out to OpenRouter, Apollo or anyone else.

Leave the demo at the top signs you out and takes you back to careerbot.dev. Opening it again later works the same way.

If many people open it at once, the page may say "The demo is busy. Try again in a minute."

Your privacy in the demo

You don't sign up and give nothing: no name, no email. Your browser keeps the sign-in until you leave, and the server deletes it after a day. Nothing is measured inside the demo. careerbot.dev's privacy page says the same.

How the demo is made and kept up to date is in Local development.
